A good beginning makes all the difference
A calm first lesson with a patient school horse. Learn how to approach, mount and find a balanced seat before taking your first guided steps. Your instructor takes time to understand your experience, energy and expectations before choosing a suitable horse. We explain each exercise clearly and leave room to pause, ask questions and practise again.
What your session includes
- A personal yard welcome and helmet fitting
- Mounting safely with a steady support block
- Finding a relaxed seat at walk
- A practical next-steps conversation
Before you arrive
Wear comfortable trousers and sturdy boots with a small heel. We provide fitted riding helmets. Arrive fifteen minutes before your session so we can make introductions without rushing. Tell us about access needs in advance; we will discuss the setting and suitable options together.
Your next step
Every rider finishes with clear feedback and a realistic next step. Request a visit using our enquiry form and tell us the days that work for you. A member of the yard team will discuss availability when this template is connected to a booking service.
